Drivers window and rear door check straps

Both straps in the back are broken I already bought to part i need of off ebay for about 20$. How do I replace these thinkgs?
Also my drivers window does not work. I took it to a mechanic and he said I have a bad switch. He's a good mechanic so I believe him he actually drives a W140 and it is clean all the time. Anyways does anyone have any assesmants and solutions for my problem. I already searched the forum but didn't find anything. As i said in another post. My 2 week spring break is coming up and I plan on putting a lot of time into the car and really fixing it up. Also my front armest looks like it has been mualed by animals. Are there any armrest covers or other sources to fix this? thanks a lot.

What model and year is your car?

Greetings,

In order to change out the door checks or straps the liner must come off so you can remove the internal part for replacement. There are several different door designs as far as the liner goes, so a model and year will help give you the proper info on this. As far as the arm rest cover, I believe you can buy this MB-Tex cover from www.************************ individually from any other covered part. I haven't seen it on this site from part shop, but you may also give Phil a call to compare prices. This cover is hard to track down on the site but if I know your model and year I can look in Performance books I have here and give you a p/n for your cover if you need it.

Greetings,

Your door panel removes by taking off the plastic window trim piece, one screw and it slide upward with a clip holding the bottom portion. The door handle chrome insert must be removed and the screw attaching the handle assembly to the door frame as well. Use a screw driver to pop the lower portion of the panel off and lift up only to remove entire panel. Don't pull out excessively on the panel as it has plastic clips that slide down into the door frame to lock the panel into place. All movement needs to be slightly outward and up. It's a real pain putting it back in as you have to negociate the window top rail to get the panel to properly seat on the top while engaging the plastic clips which need to be close to the door frame. I'd do it for you but patience is definitely a virtue on replacing the panel to the door. It will be obvious how to remove the check once the panel is removed from the door. Check removal about 5 minutes, door panel replacement after the fact minus the choice words, about 20 minutes. The MB-tex seat cover from Performance products is p/n 91-020 and the cost is $350.00 per front seat. They will want you to call them at 1-800-243-1220 to ensure the color is correct. Any other help I can provide, just let me know.

Charles
