95 E300D Injector question
If an injector is sold as Lucas or Bosch, does that mean just the nozzles are Lucas or Bosch or is the entire injector made by the manufacturer?
I have seen both for sale as remanufactured- either Lucas or Bosch. It seems strange that MB would have had two separate manufactures for such a short run on an engine. I need to do something about my nozzles soon as I have a lumpy hot idle developing. Given that Monarch and Bosio are apparently (still) unavailable at this present time, I'm going to have to go for the dealers crappy 'made in India' version of nozzles, which I'm sure will last 25-50k miles before they crap out.

Do you have a local diesel shop that will clean and balance your existing injectors?

Yes I do but the best price (from a list of reputable shops recommended) want $60.00 per injector! I can get remanufactured from a couple of places in the US for a few dollars more. One more option is to invest in a pop tester and do them myself..
