How to repair sunshade mirror 87 300D
Has anyone successfully repaired the flip out mirror portion. The mirror part and vanity light part of the sunshade eventually disconnects from the shade itself. I have replaced with new before but the current price is $285 at the dealer. I have also gotten them from a junkyard but they all eventually fail. It seems that the mirror portion just slips in to the shade but I do not see a way to get it to stay there. Not much squeezing is possible because the mirror could break.

Mine is currently doing the same thing. I plan to use silicone or construction adhesive or something to simply glue it in. Right now, there is some vinyl which shrank behind the mirror, which is what is keeping the mirror from fully setting into the shade. I plan to cut that vinyl strip out of the way before "glueing" the thing back in.

Just get another from the JY. Hint: W201 sunshade is identical to W124 And post 1990 has better quality construction.

Agree. I plan on using the sunshades from my 94 in my 87 for this very reason.
