Leather Shift Boot

A couple years ago I got a new shift boot to replace the original Rubber Boot that was the 30yr old original. Well the new one was some sort of stiff material I refered as the Tupper Ware Shift Boot. It wouldn`t stay under the edge around the hole where the shift lever lives.

I did some searching for a leather boot for the 240, but came up empty handed. Even posted a link from a CL add that had a different rubber boot in the picture to see if anyone knew what it was originally made for.

While at PNP I found that a Saab around a 1990 model has a Leather shift boot on the manual shifters. Removed one, cleaned it up, and with some modifying to the plastic Shroud slightly, to snap in the plastic ring the boot fastens to from the Saab. It all came together and looks good.

This evening I finally found a auto site that sell a shift Boot for the 240D and other makes of auto, and made of different types of material. You can order it with what ever color of stitching you that turns you on.

Dosn`t look too bad in the picture, and looks similar to the Saab one Iam using.

Maybe this will help someone.
