Heater issues in 190D

If I put it into any heat setting, it blasts cold air (feels colder than outside air, so maybe AC is coming on) out of the center vents but the side vents, floor vents and defrost vent pumps out hot air. Any ideas on what would cause this?

IIRC, the center is for a/c only, or possibly just for outside air, close the center flap in heating season...

Well if that is so, then the only HVAC issue I have is the expansion valve and the fan adjustment switch knob, thankfully both carried here for very little.

The center vents ARE for outside air. Or for AC when the AC or snowflake buttons on the control unit are depressed. For all other functions they should be closed.

Well thanks you two for clearing that up, a bit different than other cars I drive. Well atleast Mercedes put a good heater in that car
