My 87 300d Thread

My grandfather, at the age of 94 (2 years ago) was told he could no longer drive due to not being able to see. I asked for the car as I had fond memories of us driving from Arkansas to NJ in it many times. I got it with 102k on it and I am currently clicking 110 but will stop driving it in the winter.

Things I've done so far.
Degrease the entire engine and bay several times. Even after this, my hands still get stained. The mechanic actually asked me if the IP was new since it was so clean.
Repair the turbo by removing pieces of the trap oxidizer the dealership left behind when they did the recall.
Replace hood liner
Replace ovp
Replace every fuse.
Replace brake pads all around
Replace dome light due to strobing issue
Replace locked up Becker radio and speakers
Replace Climate Control Unit
Convert A/C to R134. Unfortunately, my independent mechanic wasn't going to put r12 back in it. With that said, the AC blew cold during the few 95 degree days we had.
Replace right and left motor mount. This was a huge change. I thought the car just naturally tried to rattle your teeth out when you shut it off. This made a huge difference in the enjoyment of the car
Replace every vacuum connector I could with new hose
Replace small fuel return lines on injectors
Replace fuel filters 9/21/2013
Replace air filter 9/21/2013
Replace sway bar link on passenger side as it was snapped in 2
Replace front impact stripped since the original had been tested for
functionality one too many times.
Repair right side mirror. The glass was left in the glove box
Repair right visor. The mirror and light assembly had fallen out. I had to chip away the epoxy someone tried to use and use proper glue
Replace Center Link. Wobble of death is cured 9/21/2013
Replace Steering Damper 9/25/2013
Transmission fluid and filter change. As per some of my other posts, the transmission does weird things on deceleration below 30mph when it's fully warmed up. Unchanged after fluid change. 9/21/2013
Replace the front turn signal that ejected itself last week while tooling down the highway.
Replace shut off actuator 9/27/2013
Replace Power Antenna 9/28/2013
Replace trunk seal as the trunk has water in it 10/01/2013
Resolve fuel sender issue 10/02/2013
Wireless remote for door locks installed. 10/15/13

Things I still have left to do
Replace oil level sensor (It's dripping)
Replace Under body shield
Replace Front wheel well
Body work and possibly paint
Glue down bits of interior that are peeling off.
Fix the headrests

Sweet drain plug bolt

Turbo with bits of Trapoxidizer in it. It had been replaced under warranty 6 years ago. Clearly they dropped the ball on this one.
