For sale- 1987 300td wagon

I want to sell my 87 diesel wagon- not sure what it's worth- it runs well but has issues mostly interior( windows and such) the only major issue is the oil pan has been damaged. It was when I bought it- bandaged it up and seems to be holding. Also the heater core is bad, but I have a new one just haven't put it in.

I bought the car cheap-the guy needed to sell ASAP. it's been a good car- after I sorted out the fuel issues(veggie conversion). The reason for selling; I want heat and don't feel confident changing heater core and cannot afford a mech:-(( 6-8 hrs labor.

Also my 78 300d starter went out and I'm having trouble with removal it's flip-in heavy. Any tricks- my book says go at it from under is it possible to get to it from the top?

On the starter, I've always taken then out and installed from the bottom. They are hard to manipulate but keep trying different angles and eventually you'll get it.
Hope you are doing this inside in a nice heated garage! Good luck

Probably best to include photos and the odometer reading if you are trying to sell a vehicle. Also, please consider posting in the "Mercedes Cars for Sale" section of the forum.

My 1987 300TD wagon was sold and my 2003 W210 E320 wagon was totaled (sheds tear).

Got the starter out, finally..

I'm new to this fixing my own car stuff-and didn't think about "cars for sale" as I was really only asking for suggestion on average sale price. I posted here because I need help with a starter issue on my 78 300d. Thanks for the info- I now know where to post when I'm ready to sell.

Stretch has a nice rebuild thread on rebuilding the starters, as autozoo mcparts stores sell junk.

I have several starters sitting in my shop, if you cannot locate one in your area, but shipping to oregon sounds pricey...

the 87 wagons go for anyplace from 800 for a beater needing a lot to over 15K for a nice example...

you being in PNW area, I'd bet a little loving care, and elbow grease listing it on the seattle and other craigslist sites, could net you in the 5K range quickly... but the heater core damage may need fixing first.
