1981 300SD PCV / Oil pan / Emissions / Air filter - What to do?

Greetings all. I am taking a quick break from the W111's to perform maintenance on my W126 so I can take her spin more often. The tab for the air filter housing broke off and instead of welding it back on I decided to do away with it and put a filter directly off the turbo. My question is this: Should I place a breather off the valve cover or use a PCV with a line going from the valve cover back to the intake tube off the turbo, which will be post-filter? Same goes for the metal pipe coming up from the oil pan that used to connect to the bottom of the air filter housing. Is there any harm in having hoses come from these and be placed just prior to the turbo. I have NO shaft play on the turbo and would like to do as much as possible to take the best care of it that I can. The PCV valve I got looks very similar to this. I also got a couple breathers similar to this. The intake tube has a spot to accomadate a hose and I have a T in case I need to have both go into the intake tube. See picture below, blue shop towels used to block places in question. The hole on the intake tube is just out of frame.

Really? What should I do about the connections to the device at the top of the valve cover? What would you use for block off plates? What would the advantage of removing the wastegate?

Before I go any further, are you sure this is what I should do?

if you currently have any minor leaks in your engine.. this is not what you want to do.

venting to Atm will increase the pressure in your crankcase. - exacerbating your currently weak / worn seals

jt20, how does it increase pressure? It seems like it would decrease pressure.

Bcolia, search for egr disable and find posts by Brian Carlton. You can completly remove the black box. Leave the metal bracket part that is still needed. You can leave the egr as is, it will be disabled by removing the lines.

By putting a filter directly on the turbo, you are disabling the factory fresh air basically a downgrade.

The EGR is not the wastegate. Your turbo has an internal wastegate.

If he is currently running his engine with all those holes plugged up.. you are correct, it will decrease pressure.

I was referring to stock settings - venting to Atm instead of some vacuum source, will increase crankcase pressure.

...but I doubt he is cuz his engine would stall

I have a 85 300sd w126. It seems I have an issue with blow by. The bottom of oil filter housing is leaking oil and quite a bit of oil. Is the separator deffected or is it just blowing this much oil out of valve cover? Car has lots of power im very confused. What has worked best for everyone catch can? Breather hose strait into turbo. What tabs are everyone talking about inside breather box. Please help she is loosing alot of oil. What is the best solution. Thanks in advance.
