That is beyond my knowlege because I have never bought any new ones from the Mercedes Dealer.

Silicon Vacuum Hose will also do as you said concerning expanding to a large size range and not crack and it also will deteriorate like the Rubber ones do.
It is great Hose to use on your Hand Held Vacuum Tester/Mighty Vac because it can be expanded over different size connectors and still return to the original ID.

However, it might be bothersome that it is generally found in orange, blue or yellow at the Local Auto Part Stores.
They make it in black but I have not seen black selling in the local Part Stores.

All of the above assuming

That there's not enough slack in the existing hose to make the fitting. Once you get the broken segment off, utilize a candle flame to GENTLY soften the tube and put a little soap on the fitting. Worked for me.

To repair the plastic fuel lines (at the secondary filter), if you leave the ends of the barbs covered with the old plastic tube you can use 5/16 i.d. fuel hose with clamps for new lines. I wonder if you could similarly clamp a short length of fuel hose to the barb here (leaving it covered with the old plastic) and just stuff the end of the plastic tube into it - would it seal - like the vacuum lines do?
