No, i started life with a 602, then imported a 605 from the UK. Most lower end parts are interchangeable. Notice my 124 602 pan is being used on this engine....
The lower end girdle will also fit a 602

Link to STD thread please!
I'm interested in back ground information. Pictures do tell a thousand words but at the moment they're all jumbled up. It looks a like 4matic might be in there somewhere...

What's with the blanking plate on the sump then? Is that how they're all made?

The plate is a main bearing girdle i made up to help stiffen the lower end of the engine.. It ties the main bearing caps to the skirt of the block for stiffness. It is made of .650 plate. There are ARP main bearing caps i had made for added strength as well as over sized oil pan bolts for better clamping between the girdle, block and oil pan.
I hope to be in the 400 HP range, the engine will see 7000+ RPM as well.
