Reamed glow plug holes

I made this reamer a few years ago using an old glow plug and a drill bit. A drill bit has more space for carbon than a reamer and works better. It was very difficult getting those 8 mm nuts off the glow plugs. They all wanted to spin the center electrode. Whoever put them in tightened them too much and did not use anti seize. Glow plugs are the old types and I'll be replacing them with Duraterms. While they are out, I'll be converting the 8 mm nuts to quick disconnects to make changing glow plugs in the future a breeze.

I read this post then took some time to think on the Reamer you made reamingout more Carbon.

I don't think that is possible unless the Drill bit on the end is a greater diameter than the 7mm in diamter stock Reamer. Some what like cutting a Pie into smaller pieces.

The Stock Reamers have smaller Grooves but have more of them. You fill the Grooves/Flutes with Grease and as you cut through the Carbon the Crud stays in place as the reamer moves forward.
Carbon in excess of the groove/flute depth can simply be pused towards the rear of the Reamer Bit in the grooves/flutes and there is plenty of room for that.

Would like to see pics of this when you do this, as I don't know what those disconnects are.

I hate those stupid little 8 mm nuts.

Took some pics. I'll post in a new DIY thread later.
