Replace shipping oil in Sanden compressor

All,

What is the best method for replacing the PAG or R134a compatible oil in a Sanden compressor with mineral oil? Only R12 will be used in the system. We are talking about a new, unused compressor on the bench.

Thanks Mach4. That is pretty much how I envisioned the process but with some more details. How concerned should I be about getting all the PAG residual out of the compressor? Do I need to flush the compressor somehow?

Adding new oil should be done through the drain plug or suction port when installing the unit in a fresh system?
