om617 prechamber wtb used

something caused the ball in my prechamber to come off and float around, when I pulled the injector it was stuck just below the injector and was nailing...sounded like a bad rod knock.

Finally got a tool made capable of removing the prechamber (tried the slide hammer method and broke 2 shimano crank pullers) which I am willing to loan now.

Please someone come up with a used prechamber for sale to me!
Thanks
Erik

What is needed is the year, make and model. Older n/a 77 pre chambers are different from say a 85 turbo diesel. I have a head setting with four good ones from an 82 300sd but no knowledge of how to get one out,

What Type of Slide Hammer were you using?

The older Euro made Prechamber Pullers need a Slide Hammer with 12mmx1.75 threads.

I think the USA Made Versions sold by Baum Tool, ZEDMAK Tool and El Paso Tool you will need a slide Hammer with 5/8" something threads.

Aoutozone used to have a Free reantal on the 5/8" threaded Slide Hammers and they have the 5 pound Slide/Weight needed. Those Slide Hammers sold with the tiny palm sized Slide/Weight are going to be harder to use.

There used to be a Prechamber Puller in the Tool Rental Program.

The Slide Hammer pictured is mine but the one Autozone rents is similer in size. Besides the larger Slide/Weight the Rod it is easily 2+ feet long.

There is a made in China version of the same Slide Hammer that has the 12mm Threads (for info you can see what is selling on ebay.).
The one in the Picture is also made in China but I bought it back in the 1970s and it has the 5/8" I think it is 16 or 18 threads on it.

when you slide hammer off the Pre-chambers in on the Engine it is a good idea to have the Hood straight up in the Air so that when the Pre-chamber pops out they whole puller setup does not pop up and put a dent in the Hood.

Talking

My Benz is an 82 300D, sorry I failed to mention that. I will pm the poster with used pulled units.

The Wikipedia article is decent. As with any business, you get out what you put in- that being said- of those who start a traditional business how many are successful after pouring their life savings into it? Why is mlm now taught at Harvard business school? I don't mind you being a hater of mlm, it isn't for everyone. I happen to be among the few who are successful and I only offer it as an alternative source of income for anyone who is MOTIVATED.

thanks for listening,
Erik

Comment on why the Ball Pin came loose. If the Injector Spray does not go where it is supposed to and gets directed off course it can cut through metal. One of our Members posted a pic years ago showing how the Injector spray had cut/burned through the side of the Pre-chamber.

Also notice that the thickest part of the Ball Pin is the part that the Injector spray targets.

Injector Pop Pressure (effects injection timing) and timing could also cause issues.
By timing I mean it is possible for one Element in the Fuel Injection Pump to be later then the rest due to wear on the Camshaft Inside of the Fuel Injection Pump or the Tappet Pins and Rollers.

Other issues that can case late or poor Fuel buring like leaking Valves and so on.

I don't think this is a common issue on Cars but on Trucks if one Cylinder is handeling more of the load than the rest the Combustion temp and pressure get really high in that one Cylinder. On Trucks that can lead to a fried Piston or crack a Crankshaft.
