I did not realize it was literally impossible for any 210.025 chassis to exceed 32mpg under any conditions. You learn something new every day. Apparently Evan is insane and I simply don't know what I'm talking about. Good to know. Y'all have been warned.

That's indeed correct and closer to reality. The 32 is an incredibly optimistic number, to claim as a minimum. I didn't want to rain on their parade though. Could be pushing them to get it?

Why does the numerical value of someone's MPG really matter anyway? Nobody here is trying to impress anyone nor are they trying to use inflated MPG figures to sell a car.
Besides, this thread is supposed to be about Shertex's experience with chip tuning of which his MPG is a part but it doesn't need to break down into a detailed discussion of everyone's method of MPG calculation. Just for grins, later this month, I'll log my highway MPG's on my road trip to Chad's and start a separate post. Then you all can dissect my scientific method all you want.

I would like to max out with chip tuning my edc pump 6mm elements 5500rpm max. What power gain to expect. Doeas anyo e have a example custommap for me to use as a starting point? |

If you want more, you need larger elements, and a modified program to work with the larger elements. Dunno if anyone in USA is doing that kind of stuff but you might be able to find places across the pond (i.e., Myna). Of course with 7-8mm elements you're going to need major changes to the turbo / manifold / IC... and probably the transmission... differential... etc, etc. Depends how crazy you want to get, I've heard people have gotten over 700hp from the OM606. But for that kind of dough you could get a nice W211 E320 CDI and chip it, and probably end up with a lot nicer ride for less money... |
