junkyard, ebay, easy ship to get

I would forgo the fix yourself from Napa, had no luck with it when I tried it, just got a headache. Even if it does work, looks like crap when your done. Ebay or junkyard. P.S. Cars look cool parked under trees, you don't think a limb will fall, but they do. I had a truck one time, limb fell crashed the front shield and the roof, big dent, no more parking under trees for me!

I recently pulled a back window from a 123 coupe with a nice flexible seal and good trim - wasn't so hard to do - pushed the seal out from the inside, a little bit at a time, starting from the upper corners. I think the pick n pull price was less than 50 for the whole thing. Havn't installed it yet but after pulling it I feel more confident I can probably install it too.

You need to take the car to a glass place and have them look at it, laminated rear glass isn't typical so they are not expecting it. You car is an easy fix in the $ 50 range.

Glass with a star break and the rest of the glass is clear, you have laminated glass.

If you had a break and the entire glass is frosted and looks like a million pieces, you have tempered. ( and soon a hole as large as the entire opening as the glass bits fall out )

On modern USA spec cars regardless of make, the front windshield is laminated to prevent items from penetrating in to the cabin.( 2 layers of regular glass glued together with a 1/16" layer of plastic. ) All other glass is _typically_ tempered. While very strong, it shatters into small fragments when broken. )

I know that the rear glass of a 90 to 01 SL R129 is laminated, I've seen enough sellers of removable roofs with cracked glass that I can make this statement. It isn't much of a stretch that your car would have this also.

Another sign of laminated is when the edges start to fog up, this is caused my moisture entering between the layers.

Another sign is when the glass is out, you can look at the edge and see the outer layer, plastic center and inner layer.
