electrical problem

Hi,

Twice this week when Ive gone out to my car, I have noticed that the clock stopped. A few times starting the car the seatbelt/glow light wouldnt come on when glowing the plugs(sometimes I have to tap it lightly to get tit to work, this time nothing). Also, the seatblet warning sound buzzed but it was very faint, barely noticable. All of a sudden, though, the glow light started working and the buzzer was loud and clear. However, then I noticed that on one occasion the tach needle didnt work when I started the car, and I needed to tap the dash to get that going... All these odd things in a week, and none of them had ever happened before. I suppose there is a bad connection, but where is the best place to start looking? Under the hood? I am not sure how to remove the speedometer assembly, but I fear that might be necessary.
Any advice on where to start working to fix this would be great. Thanks

JMH
