Question rebuild my 91 350 or ?

Well the engine in the "tank" (90 350 SDL) is finally starting to burn oil after 270K and the tranny is getting weak. Replaced the engine in a 91 I bought cheap with a 3L and it seems to work fine. I have a lot of 350 parts. Should I try to rebuild the 350? I assume the cylinders are egg shaped like they were in the 91. Will the redesigned connecting rods and pistons correct the problem? Can the block be bored back to round if it is not to bad? Can the engine be sleeved and is it cost prohibitive. What do the experts who rebuild these engines do. I will be doing all the labor and assembly myself. Or should I just give up and look for another 3L engine? I really like the 126 body, wish they could have got the 3.4L engine right the first time. Any thoughts on this are appreciated.
