Door Lock Actuator 300SD-How do I remove Rod?
I received my (2) used but good actuators today for my 82 300SD. After I purchased them the seller told me they came off a 88 420 SEL.
The one I am removing is Blue in color and the rod snaps in. The one I am removing has 3 mounting screws. The replacements ones off the 88 420 SEL, I got 2, one spare, only have 2 mounting bolts, but these 2 holes match up OK. The rods are different so I need to change rods. So I need to remove the rod from the used 420 SEL's I just got but they don't screw out. I see 3 wedges around the rod, that might be holding the rod in. ????? Do I push side ways on the rod to where there is no wedges in the void? I don't want to bust it. Thanks I tried to cross ref parts to see if compatable but Pelican does not list a rear door actuator for a 82 300SD, but they do list a rear door actuator for a 88 420 SEL and it is 124-800-17-15-75-M22. I hope this one will work, it appears it will.

The bad one in the 82 300Sd is a Blue VDO. Leaks bad when you suck on hose! It has easy snap attachment clip.
The used ones I received are OEM Mercedes Benz parts and they are tight with no leaks but no easy snap fitting. Just can't figure how to get the Rod off "OUT-OF" the Actuator on the Mercedes ones. Hope I can reattach inside door to existing rod without removing too much stuff.

Sorry, I searched this out.
With prior write up figured it out. This collar design is different than the VDO that I took off. Mercedes used part seem better than the VDO IMHO. What I did was pull on the rod till full out, and push, tap, the plastic ROD where it shaft goes in, and this collar thing came out. Then just snapped out the shaft. Bolted up in place and put together and push collar with rod in it back down till collar fully in. Quit a design. Sorry
