1999 headlight question
So i have a "Lamp Out" on the 1999 E300D. It is the smaller right headlight. It works on bright but it doesn't on dim. The bulb in it was an H7 so i tried replacing it with another one and it is still the same problem. It only works on bright.
Is there a fuse specific for the low beam for that smaller head light? I couldn't find one. Or maybe the H7 bulb is not the right one? Any advise? Thanks

I thought the parking light was a totally separate bulb... (?)

This is. it's called a parking light? The left side is on with hi and low beam. I didn't realize all 4 headlight bulbs do hi and low beam. It looks like they do. Is that correct?

OK, now that I think of it, I believe it's a proprietary lamp that goes in there. The H7 is for the fog lights (maybe).
I think I replaced mine years ago and had to get it from the dealer. I have a spare at home and I can check it later this evening.

From what I can tell, only the center two are high beams. No direct knowledge, just my experience.

OK, my memory was partially correct - a dangerous thing...
This is the lamp housing. The little connector on the bottom with the awesome back woods blue tape repair, is the parking light. ![]() This is the impressively expensive replacement bulb:

Yep the two small inner headlights take an H6 which are rare as hens teeth and expensive. I had to go to the dealer for mine.
Note these are known as "city lights" if you are searching...

Thanks Kartek, Jay bob. That was it. The little h6 one. Yesterday i went to oreilly and they had one but the nipples are in the wrong place to fit in socket. However one of my sockets was busted -- brittle plastic on both so i was able to put their bulb in the broken socket and my one good bulb in the other good socket. I'll have to check my 1996 parts car for sockets and bulbs.
