Going to be on holiday for a month starting tomorrow so I may not see replys and apologies. I'll just give the facts as I know them. Not taking the car. Sure would like to hear from anyone who has had the same or similiar event.
'87 Turbodiesel Wife started the car in the morning in the garage from cold; 50F normal start got out to change shoes standing beside the vechicle tying shoes (door closed) engne in park starts to accelerate fairly rapidly to the upper governed speed (I think) took less than 2 seconds She climbed in and switched off. Stopped OK. Inspected for any linkage or pedal interference. Nothing found Had dealer inspect for problem. Thorough inspection Nothing found. Dealer had a conference with head office. Nothing No maintenance done in the last 3 months, and last was an oil change by me. Acceleration was uniform indicating to me that it was not breathing in lube oil. There was quite a bit of smoke probably the usual for a carboned up exhaust. Want to get to the bottom of this. Thanks very much |
