1998 W140 S300 Turbodiesel - OM606 problems
My car is a 1998 S300 Turbodiesel, equipped with the OM606.961 (little small differences from the OM606.962 from the W210, as the oil dipstick in a different position for example) only available in Europe
So the problem is that at idle, and only when warm, the engine as a slight miss or "rocking" motion from side to side. Engine mounts are new. Oil comsumption is very heavy if the level is at the top mark. It dropped from top to middle of the dipstick in 400 Kilometers. But then it stays there. Also, back in october I did a full cooling system flush with Mercedes Citric Acid. Put in some new hoses, new thermostat and cleaned everything. The car ran perfect at 84 Celsius all day long, but now at high speed it climbs to 100 Celsius and probably more if I keep pushing on. Outside temperatures are around 30 celsius over here. Did a video of this rocking motion and also the amount of oil vapour or blowby that I get from the breather hose. the car has 486 000 kilometers. Here's the vid: https://youtu.be/JGCRRNoKuFU Any help is welcome to point me in the right direction. |
