Diesel Engine Swaps

I like to follow what others are doing in the world of engine swaps and there are some interesting development work that is opening up previously impractical options for consideration. When I did my swap (OM617->R107) the choices were pretty limited...mechanical systems were pretty much it.

I'd like to point out a couple of projects that have the potential to change things pretty dramatically.

First, with engines, it's now possible to use the 606 engine without resorting to the use of 603 mechanical IPs.

Second, it's now possible to use the 722.6 automatic transmission with a stand alone controller (TCU)

These strategies also have applicability to more stock applications where more control, flexibility or options are desired.
