That tubing is thick walled stuff and I would be shocked if it would not hold up. I am guessing the EWP tubing 1.0 will be the guinea pig. If it does break, I can always chop off with around 2" from the inlet and go with a rubber hose. There will be a lot of flex / buffering with the straight lenght of rubber hose form EWP to the aluminum tube end. Time will tell of this one.

I replaced many heater hoses in my 300D's w/ silicone hoses, including the large one below the T-stat housing (42 mmD?). For the others, standard 5/8"D (16 mmD) works. It is flexible enough to fit over both ends (different D's) of the passenger side heater run where the aux pump sat. I used blue, but also comes in red & black. You can buy thin alum sections on ebay for both radiator and turbo, some w/ threaded ports for temp sensors or built-in filters and I think some are pre-bent.

I double checked and its less than 10" total from inlet to the end. I should have it back within a week or two, welded and polished to like chrome. Hopefully, the bent tubing will be the first option, but either way it will get rid of the conglomerate of stuff which makes up the thermostat housing and water pump housing, water pump, et cet.... lol
