Novice needing help

Such a novice I have one post already and I posted it in the wrong section.

Novice when it comes to forums and when it comes to mechanical things, anyways I have always wanted an old truck so I made the 9 hour drive and bought a 1963 F100 that has an OM617 engine in it. That's pretty much all I know.

Im here for help. Is there any easy fixes that a novice like me can do to increase the acceleration? When i hit the pedal it doesn't really have any go. It will get up to 60 (if the wind is blowing just right)

I was having an issue with it cranking but I found a fuse that was blown (connected to glow plugs) replaced it and it started again fine.

Here are some pictures. Let me know if you need more information. Again Ive never been on forums or had a cool vehicle.
