I had trouble too but just found one

I was lucky! I found one!

The 300e ones are available for just $18 but the 300d ones are all NLA, "No Longer Available".

You can't use one from a 300e on a 300d, won't work.

E320 tank is identical to the 300d.

This is a non issue.

The 190DT uses a unique recovery tank (2015000249/2015000549), which is priced like solid gold. Fortunately, it's a direct interchange with the tank used in a 400E (1245001549). But that's not the OP's problem.

This part is an exact fit of the 1987 300D diesel. 124 500 13 49,1245001349. I just bought one and it is literally the SAME.

Bumping an old thread... does anyone know if the currently-available aftermarket (Febi/Rein) tanks, 124-500-13-49, have the silica pack inside?
