Subframe Bushing tool

Does anyone know if the MB tool that is used for W124 subframe bushings will work on a W123 as well? I have the whole subframe assembly from my 240D sitting on the floor in the garage waiting for me to get motivated to work on it and I'm getting tired of looking at it

I made that video and cobbled the tool together myself. Let me know if I can answer any questions.

thank you for validating my purchase of an electric impact driver, I guess a trip to my local hardware store is in order. I've been putting off this job on both cars for too long now.

Well worth the trip. I drove both new subframe bushings in with this tool, sil glyde, and my electric impact wrench in no time at all.

Finally got around to getting all of the parts for this tool this afternoon. I was able to remove the old collapsed mounts with a claw hammer and very little effort so hopefully once I get the subframe all cleaned up I can press the new ones in smoothly.

I used the homemade tool for installing the bushings and modified it for the trailing arm bushings.

Huge thanks to MagicBus for putting the video together.

It was indeed time for new bushings...

I love the old Black & White Plates. Back in the day, you could find a 3 digit plate. I cannot image what they cost these days.

Numbers Only - Delaware's Marketplace for Low Digit Black Tags

Looks like they go from $29,000 up to $199,000

I got mine for free at the DMV by asking if they had any

Holy smokes.... back in the 80's, 3-digit plates could be found for $250 to $500 bucks for the really low ones. Wish I knew their value back then... lol. I would have picked up '123' and sat on it.

You're welcome. I'm glad it helped and that someone else can make use of this tool design.
