Anyone here from Delaware
What's are the rules for inspection for diesels in DE? Do they inspect 30 YO cars? Are there emissions tests?

Delaware is not on my beat but generally you can get such info by Googling something like "Delaware vehicle emissions laws". I pull them up for NC from time to time when needed. You have me curious so I'm gonna look now.....
Found it! http://dmv.de.gov/services/vehicle_services/titles/ve_title_general_info.shtml Look about mid-page - Diesel powered vehicles are exempt from emissions inspection but have to pass the safety inspection. Dan |

The place of my nativity. Delaware has or at least used to have inspection lanes. There's one by the airport. You have to drive through the lanes, slam on the brakes, et cet. However, for old clunkers, I do not recall the guy putting the probe into the tail pipe. I drove a 1954 Packard convertible through the lanes back in the day with a 5 gallon gas jug in the front ...lol and it passed ... I've been gone for a number of years so not sure if the rules changed.
