is there anything to make the exhaust smell better?

since i have no ac, i get a whiff of my exhaust if the wind blows the right way when i am stopped at a light.

i tried the biodiesel route but that stuff smells worse. like burning leaves.

i normally put a couple of ounces of 2 stroke oil at every fill up. maybe that is the cause of the stink.

maybe i am just getting older and becoming more sensitive to the smell.

there was a time when i was younger and i actually enjoyed taking a whiff or two.

A couple OZ in a whole tank? That won`t do anything to the smell.
I usually use 1oz per gallon and don`t notice any weird smell.

Hey, it`s a Diesel. HMMM.....maybe some pepper Mint Oil?

This will remove the smell, and a bit of exhaust smoke:

You may have something wrong with your engine... I drive a 617 powered 380SL and literally the only time I can smell the sweet aroma of diesel is backing up the driveway with the top down...and not always even then. Kind of wish it were a bit more odorous.

You could have a leak in the exhaust system.

I once tried 2 quarts of used motor oil in my Volvo diesel and the exhaust stank for over 1 year afterwards. Perhaps some previous owner dumped something in the tank that should not have been their as I did.

190DT doesn't have a cat or trap oxidizer.

There's a problem with your motor. I can tell by your fuel economy. My 190DT gets around 35 avg, 41 on a level highway. I used to have a problem like this before I rebuilt the head. A couple of bad valve seats and two sunk lifters seems to have been the source. But there are a lot of potential causes.

If you think for a second its ok to casually breathe diesel exhaust,
you're probably just as ignorant as the majority of posters on this sub forum
