Bosch MW IP Delivery Valve Holder Seal Kit

"DGK 128" it's probably been passed but here it is again.
It's for the OM616/617, 5 cyl. Kit

I'm ordering the kit for my leaking delivery valve holders. I'm pretty sure you just get five each 10mm x 14mm x 0.5mm copper washers in the kit but it may also come with the o-ring dust seals. If you just need one crush washer you will still need to order the kit. It's best reseal all of them anyway. Good luck finding that size anywhere else. I forget who said it her but it deserves repeating. 'Bosch and only Bosch make that size of crush washer. It is a single use part and a copper alloy that doesn't anneal well(Cu/Al?). I tried the heat and reseat method without success.
Here in the PNW, Portland Injection Pump Services has them and Seattle Injection.
Phone Quotes-
Portland:$30
Seattle:$20...not sure why the different prices
I have a 240D, the kit is for a five cylinder so I guess the 4 bangers will have spare to sell at 50% less than the kit . They said I could special order the 240D kit but it actually cost more.

The O-rings are for the outer body (barrel) of the Elements to IP Housing. Removing them on an MW Fuel Injection Pump disturbs the fuel setting and if you don't get the shims from the element back on that same element you alter the IP camshaft to element timing.

So except for the necessity of dealing with a leak between the element barrel and the IP housing they are best let alone unless you plan to have the Fuel Injection Pump recalibrated.
In short don't loosen the 13mm nuts on that are on each side of the Delivery Valve holder.

Note there is 2 threads where I provided a method to mark the Fuel Injction Pump with hopes of returning the Elements back in their origninal position and trying to maintain the fuel adjustment but removing them is an extreme measuer on an MW Fuel Injection Pump.

The Copper Crush Washers for the MW Fuel Injection Pumps can be bought individually.

I can see how that may have been misleading. I hope I didn't encourage anyone to rush out and pull their barrels looking for o-rings. I had no idea there was an o-ring under the barrel flange. Do the barrels often leak? Anyway, that's important. Don't touch your nuts on the flanges. I am anxious look at your links.

I was led or misled to believe some M and/or MW pumps have different styles of delivery valve holders and seals. There is a YouTube video of a Euro chap changing his d-valve seals. I don't know what type of pump he had but I'm thinking it was on an OM617 engine.

He removed a valve holder-lock ring/flange(not the barrel flange), used a 30 point socket to remove the valve holder, and made it VERY clear to avoid touching the valve or valve cap whilst surgically removing the crush washer on top of the d-valve. He replaced the washer and a rubber O-ring on the d-valve holder itself.

The crush washer on my my MW pump is below the valve and changing it requires removing the spring, cap, and valve. I also have a hex style valve holder and no o-ring. I asked the tech how and why the component only required one sealing washer. There are at least three mated surfaces. His only answer, "It's a steel on steel seal". Uh... ok...

I gave up looking for seals online after an hour, so when the center tech told me they were only able to sell them as a part of the kit, that was fine by me. Probability is quite high that at least one of them will fall prey to a black hole in my driveway which has swallowed thousands of fasteners, small parts, and widowed socks.

FYI, when I was doing some research I came across part number 004-997-45-40-M14 for the copper seals. This site sells them, and for only $1 each. They're sitting in my cart for whenever I place a bigger order, but it seems like every time I go to order something I either can't find the part I need or it's only the Uro or equivalent brand, so I don't know when I'll be able to get them and verify that they're the correct size. But maybe someone wants to throw them in with an order and see.

I also found info that the MW pumps use two different sizes and no info on how to tell the difference. I believe M pumps always have the washer AND a rubber O-ring.

Yes, the M types Pumps need an O-ring and Copper Crush Washer for the Delivery Valve Olders also the Elements are entirly different.

Since 2007 there has been 2 members (that I can remember) posting that have had the MW Fuel Injectin Pumps leak under the Element Flange. So it is not a very common occurance.
Also I think they both only had 1 leaking.

My pump started leaking from underneath the element flanges after using HPR diesel. I'd be curious to see if anyone else had issues with that fuel.

If I remember there has been 2 members that have had that issue. These Pumps are quite old now and the formula for Diesl Fuel has been alterded lots of times and other rubber parts of the fuel system have circumed long ago to those changes.
On the one element I pulled there was a sheetmental Spacer between the flange and the Oil Ring. I suspect that if those spacers rust through that will also cause a leak.

I think this is the thread where I describe how to measure and remove the Elements. Do only one at a time and only the ones that leak. Note that it is sort of a last ditch. If doing it does not work you either get another used Fuel Injection Pump or pay to have yours calibrated properly at a shop.
