OM606 "Lower" Injector Seal?
1996 E300, OM606
I plan on pulling the injectors from the engine and having a local Bosch shop go through them for me. I see that this engine uses the same heat shields as the OM616 in the '74 - I've got a pile of those. In digging around on Pelican I found these: Fuel Injector Seal (Lower) Part #: 001-017-73-52-M14 Where does this seal go? I searched the peachy forums and the WWW and didn't find mention of replacing these when installing the injectors. I'm curious about their application. And am I correct in assuming that the upper fuel injector seal (Part #: 606-016-02-21-MBZ) is the o-ring that seals between the valve cover and injector well? Thanks!

001-017-73-52 is an internal part of the injector (Part 137 on Figure 1)
601-017-00-60 is the heatshield (Part 146 on Figure 1) 606-016-02-21 is the o-ring (Part 23 on Figure 2)
