Thanks for the update. Too many posters never give "the rest of the story".
I always left the "accelerator" in the idle position, but makes sense that opening it would help, especially if a weak primer pump. I am guessing the primer pump must also develop >10psig to open the check valve on the IP's inlet banjo fitting to get any flow.
