Wanting to change out my cracked door seals (upper)

Bought a nice used set.

Are these supposed to be split in half? Front and back?

I installed the new upper front seal and it's about 1/2" shorter thus leaving a gap between the newly installed front section and my old rear section.

Maybe they are supposed to be installed as a set.

Perhaps the factory cuts vary in their location?

Also I've seen pictures of these seals that appear to be one long piece instead of two pieces per side.

Hope that makes sense.
