clock repair
Repaired clock the usual capacitors replacement project. Still no function. Ended up to be a hanging adjuster mechanism. A little lubricant and it clicked back like it did for the first 27 years. Never saw this issue mentioned before in posts. Solved my issue.

What did you use to lubricate the gears?
I'd like to give my tripometer gears a once over sometime soon.

Well this boils down to what the gears are made of .Most are nylon gears and oil is no good for them .I would use a cotton bud with sllicon on it .Both parts wont wear if made of nylon. If yours is like mine, then it will have the button in there to zero the kilomiters or miles .The thing is never zero it on the move this is how they break .And then you will have to remove the speedo head and re fit new pot gears .So if its working, then let it alone .
