Part # Coding - Last 3 Characters Meaning?

Re: 300SDL

This morning I'm looking to order a couple of engine dampener shocks.

Peach is listing two Sachs versions:
"123-240-23-48-M24" & "123-240-23-48-INT"

What is the difference? A dollar more for the "M24"

Foot note: There is also another offering for "Genuine MB" for double the price. They are all Sachs.

Thanks!

The extension I take to specify brand. Why there are two different extensions for Stabilus I have no idea, but you'll see it from time to time. One thing I'll say about MB parts. I'm sure MB has a contract with Stabilus to produce this part. What we don't know is what that contract says. So when the MB star gets put on it, it may or may not be the same part anymore. When I replaced my motor mounts with Lemfoerder, I compared with the original, and they were identical in appearance, except the MB star had been ground off the Lemfoerder. So if it has the star, it meets the contract. if it doesn't, the maker is free to turn out whatever they think their reputation allows.

What you're seeing is Peachpart's numbering system which piggybacks MB's numbering format.

The MB p/n is 123-240-23-48. The addition is how PP separates the. Since the two are apparently the same brand and the price is $1.00 different I'd take a stab to say they are the same part accidentally entered into the system twice. There could be two variants of the same part but without any indication of this it's probably a system issue, not a part difference.

Thx! Pelican rep...characters represent the "vendor" or supplier...same part / mfg.

Thanks for the insight!

Found out latter today from Pelican MB rep that for Pelican, these ending characters represent the "vendor" or supplier...same part / mfg.

Interestingly the "M24" was available from the in-house supply and could be shipped today. The "INT" model would be coming from a vendor and would take an extra day delivery.

I ordered the M24 version since they were in stock at a Pelican warehouse.

So maybe best to check with Pelican rep when seeing this scenario if your looking for quicker delivery, or dodging mystery vendor backorders.
