What's your EGT when cruising down the highway?
For those of you with 617's and EGT gauges, what's your EGT at 60mph or so on level ground?
Obviously this will vary with wind and exterior temp and air filter cleanliness and altitude and barometric pressure and humidity and a thousand other things, just wondering about ballpark estimates. Trying to get a very rough idea of how "hard" my engine is working in my swap, compared to in the cars it was designed for. Thanks folks. That's it for me tonight, I promise. :D |
It varies so much due to the kinds of factors you listed I can't even remember a typical cruise value....and I can't check it right now as the car is off the road for the turbo leak repair and rear axles.
The only time I pay much attention to EGT is pulling up a grade with the pedal buried, and then the max is 1200-1250. |
Thank you sir. I posted this last night and then went hmm, I don't even know what my own baseline is.
My highest EGTs are similar to yours, and under the same conditions. |
