Anyone got an idea what this piece of metal might be?

It is attracted to a magnet, so it's not aluminum..

Thought it might be a deformed check ball from a clutch drum, but the drum still has a checkball in it.

Much too small to be a valve body check ball and not the right shape or size.

Anyone every found something like this in a 722 trans or recognize it?
