Put the wrong oil in CDI engine

My son drives my 2007 ML CDI with the particulate filters.
The car has 260,000 miles
Between Mobil One oil changes sometimes you get a CEL message that says " oil a bit low top off at next fueling" or something like that.
So my son stops and buys Mobil One 5 w 30, but not the ESP formula, spec 229.xx.
He added a quart and drove about 100 miles with it.
Does anyone think that this mistake will jeopardize and clog the emissions system?
I ask because coincidently a new CEL came on today. I will have it read.
I had him change oil to the correct stuff today as he was close to the 10,000 miles anyway.
Any thoughts are appreciated.
thanks
