Output pressure of injector mounted lift pump?

Does anyone know the output pressure of the injector mounted lift pump? Mine is an 1995 E300D. Also, any thoughts on removing the lift pump & sealing the mounting point? Any unexpected problems with internal fuel flow?

I'm thinking of re-plumbing the fuel system, adding a proven electric lift pump, and extra filtration.

Lift pump would be one of Walbro's

FRP-2-1 2 - 3.5 psi
or
FRP-1-1 4 - 7 psi

Main reasons for modifying are to hopefully reduce the incidence of fuel leakage and smelling the fumes while driving. Extra filtration capacity may not be needed but is easy to install. I plan to add a filter with a visible water bowl if reasonable in price & not difficult to install. I would pinch the new rubber line if shut off valve failed.

Health quotes for fumes:

Short-term exposure to diesel fuel vapors can cause difficulty breathing, nausea, eye irritation, increased blood pressure, headache, light-headedness, loss of appetite, poor coordination, and difficulty concentrating.

Long-term exposure to diesel fuel vapors can cause kidney damage and lower the blood’s ability to clot.
