W123 Euro Headlights ebay - caution!

I considered this pair:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Headlights-Front-Lamps-LEFT-RIGHT-PAIR-Fits-Mercedes-W123-1976-1984/332395207831?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649
since good price ($130 incl. shipping from Latvia), but backed away after responses the seller. They did confirm that the front lenses are glass, but only answered my "are rear covers included" with a cryptic, "only parts shown in the photo". I asked again, pasting their photo stating that the covers are not shown and stating "useless without rear covers" and asked if they knew where to buy them. They responded "don't know where to buy". This implies that they don't come w/ rear covers, so a warning to everyone.

If you do buy a pair and they come complete, please let me know and I may buy the other pair listed. Probably Depo brand (ad states "brand doesn't apply"). People here have had mixed luck with Depo's body fitment and bulbs installing correctly. Unfortunately, I have found some foreign ebay sellers do not follow what people in the Americas and W. Europe consider ethical practices, so am always careful. My motivation in euro-lights is because my 1984 has accident damage on one side, so might make it a more bitshin ride for my son at the same time.

W126 headlight

Just installed on w126 Depo headlights, but bought from some website. Well driver side fit perfect, but passenger side barely can fit since my car has a bracket for the air filter. So I will need to cut one of the bracket post, if I wanted in the future to replace bulb without removing whole headlight. Another problem is headlight wipers, it's useless thing, but it's part of the car, so driver side I have less problem just drill another whole in the wiper motor bracket to secure on two bolts. Passenger side is not even close to mount wiper motor, so I secured it by one bolt that goes into body and make an adopter plate between wiper bracket and headlight mounting place. So it will be secure by just two bolt. I don't care it's enough to keep it in place. I don't think my wiper even working.

Can you tell from pictures or alleged part numbers that they’re LHD headlights?

tdouble, MB headlights have a cover panel to keep the inside of the headlight assembly clean.

The pictures show entire buckets.

Looks to me they are complete headlight assemblies...

I don’t see pictures with or of the back covers. For example -

Loathe as I am to say only buy hella/bosch/oem headlights, I'm going to do it anyway.

I've got a set of euro projector depo's on my 2002 Golf TDI (purchased when the stock internal headlight wiring harnesses shed the entirety of their insulation). The bulb sockets of the depo's are cheap plastic... almost like a milk jug and nearly as soft. The internal wire harnesses were of marginal quality. The bulb connectors are thin and made of a brittle (think styrene) type plastic. The headlight mounting tabs were thin and two of them split when I hand tightened the bolts. The rear covers were not an exact fit and required modification.

In sum, too much damn work to get them up to par.

I've been lurking around eBay looking for a pair of euro's for my w124. I saw all of the "wow that's a great price" offerings from Latvia and other former Soviet block countries. As Brave Sir Robin opined in the quest for the Grail... RUN AWAY!

For 100 bucks it can be replaced every 5 years. Anyway glass will chipped either Depo or MB OEM, in the end all glass made in China.
It's like expensive road bikes vs none brand ones, appropriately they are all made in China.

Well my two cents in similar to others. (still confused about the back covers tho haha)

Every off brand light assembly I've ever bought in my life has not fit properly in one way or another. Which usually amounted to it not being secured properly, or it just looked like it doesn't fit on the car.

I agree with just replacing the the glass lenses if they crack argument but that's only if they fit right

Like sixto, I see no rear covers in the ad, and they did not confirm they come with covers. Indeed, they seemed to try to skirt the question, but perhaps just a language issue. They did seem bothered by my questions, which didn't make me comfortable. I occasionally sell parts on ebay and am happy to answer questions in detail. Indeed, my problem has been buyers who don't read the listing, don't ask any questions, then fuss about their purchase via bad feedback, without even messaging me first. Anyway, if someone else wants to take a chance, please let us know the outcome.
