biodiesel compatible cotton-braided Viton return line

I may be getting my hands on a sizable roll of cotton braided Viton injector return line soon. It will look exactly like factory Mercedes-Benz line, but made from modern materials that are resistant to biofuels.

Anyone need/want some?

That sounds great! Uncle Kent used to sell Viton return hose, but they became brittle with heat and were prone to splitting, so he stopped selling it.

Meanwhile, I've been using the braided Contitech type and it seems to hold up fine to biodiesel. I'm sure lots of people would be interested in the braided Viton return line you have. I'd be interested if money wasn't tight at the moment and I didn't still have a roll of new Contitech return hose.

The braided exterior should solve the cracking issues. It's strange that uncle ken's hose became hardened...Viton usually has better resistance to heat than NBR.

There is a minimum order quantity of 1000 meters of line (), so if I decide to buy it, I'm going to be trying to offload some of it.

I put 1/8" Viton return hose from ebay on my 1985 300D a few years ago. Still looks OK and soft. I did get a leak at the #5 stub, but right after I had cracked the injector nut, so apparently tore it w/ the wrench. Previously, I had woven hose stamped "Made in Germany" and it seeped thru everywhere after maybe 4 years. Don't know the current hose truly is Viton, but a duller gray than typical shiny black of rubbers like nitrile, if that means anything. From China, but doesn't always mean phony. Having the woven look isn't essential to me, and a smooth surface is easier to clean.

The woven surface is more for protection against wear and damage, I think? Either way, looking original but with a viton hose underneath was the goal. We'll see if I can get a sample, if so I'll post a photo/review up.

I'll have 1000 meters available when I get it. I'm still figuring out the price with the supplier, but it would depend on the amount you want. Payment could be paypal, check, money order, etc. I'm pretty flexible on payment from forum members.

The line is in hand and looks great. PM me if you want some, right now I will be selling it by the foot to a few "beta testers" on these boards at a reduced rate.

In a couple weeks, I'll be selling it as a pre-cut kit for each engine type.

I got a run of endplugs made from 303 stainless steel!

So far I have about 100 feet of line out "in the wild" and have had great feedback. The end plugs complete the return line system, and having nice clean plugs can help reduce leaks at the end plug.
