Finishing a swap I didn't start: '83 W126 SD Edition

Hi everyone,

So as the title suggests, I bought someone's engine swap in progress. It's OM617 - OM617, so nothing crazy, but I fear that I am missing various bits and bobs, and the PO is of little help, as he started this back in 2009.

1: How exactly does the AC compressor mount? I see where goes in a general fashion, but having not taken it off, I seem to lack the imagination here. Can anyone help? Sounds silly, I know, but the PO had the compressor lines cocked above in the inner fender well for so long that the rubber line closest to the condenser had cracked, so it's not exactly fitting like a glove. Any pictures or info (including what hardware is used to mount it) would be super helpful.

2: Anyone have a good schematic for the vacuum lines? Most seem untouched, but there's are a few without a home.

3: The rod that comes from the firewall and connects to the throttle linkage, does anyone sell this? The PO seems to have misplaced it.

I normally wouldn't undertake such a project, but it sure cleaned up quite nicely:

Thanks for any help.

Best advice I can give you is to visit a U-Pull-It type of place.

The A/C compressor mounting will depend on the type of compressor you have. Most likely it is a R4 but it could be a Sanden or even a R6 (unlikely but possible).

Ah, I should have stated that it's an R4. Sorry about that.

As for finding parts locally, there's very few W126s of any ilk on the roads here in NE Ohio, nevermind the junkyard. Nothing to source locally, I'm afraid.

It depends on how much you are looking to invest in the car but I highly recommend getting the Sanden conversion kit from Rich (Rollguy) here on the forum. He's got the brackets, hoses, etc. bundled into a kit.

There's quite a few members in your neck of the woods who can probably supply you with the oddball parts you'll need.

That looks exactly like my project car.

Mine started as a 1985 380SE. I pulled the drive train and installed the 617 from my 84SD.

I would suggest you put your general location in your personal information and start asking for parts as you need them. If you find a member with a parts car it's likely you can get the parts at a fair price. Shipping wouldn't be too bad if you could get everything you need in one package.

I'm in Greenville, SC. If there are w126s in the junk yards around here I haven't found them.

Thanks.

Number one (AC) I can do without, but the throttle linkage is a necessity. I'll take a picture of what I am missing tomorrow and hopefully someone can help me out with a spare.

E; Here's an imagine of what I need:
