That's actually not a bad idea! I have a dash cam, but it sticks to the windshield and the Arizona sun would bake the thing, plus it would interfere with my Eclipse retractable sunshade. My rear view mirror is also starting to get discoloration, so this might be just what I need.

well, a little off subj but I think the solution is to simply buy a clamp on mirror that also has a wider viewing angle. I use the Broadway brand clip on mirrors on my cars, the added viewing angle shows things in the field off axis that OE mirrors can't.
