Most 126 rear tail lights that I've seen leak and the $80 prices I've seen for seals isn't going to cut it.


How have you stopped the leak without causing paint or rust damage from the sealant?

85SD 240K & stopped counting painted, putting bac together. 84SD 180,000. sold to a neighbor and member here but I forget his handle. The 84 is much improved from when I had it. 85TD beginning to repair to DD status. Lots of stuff to do.

Go to a hardware store and get weather stripping.

Maybe buy a roll of butyl windshield installation ribbon. The nice thing about it is that you can mold and work it like clay. I've found many uses for the stuff!

Duct seal from the electrical supply house (or the electrical isle of HD).

$5 for a block of it, roll into a rope (like playdoh) and then mash where you need it.

It is used for sealing wire penetrations that will need to be opened at a later date, so it doesn't "glue in" like RTV.
