As stated in my post, looks like it may have been tampered with.
By that, the misalignment of the thousands and the tens digits do not line up correctly which I have read is a tell-tale sign of tampering, along with a zero in the trip meter.

Chase all would be contenders away with an opening bid of $300.00. Then take it to the million mark.

Why don’t you buy it! Make it to the million mile mark. You’d be closer than me in my 606.

I like the AMG badge and the stick hood prop. Great substitute for OEM.

Body definitely saw 800 judging by that C pillar but everything else looks nice. Either a highly maintained engine or it’s been replaced. Looks so clean for 800k.

I believe it, my OM601 had over 330k on it when sold and was still running perfectly fine...it did have normal maintenance. Around 300k I did the lifters, timing chain, injector nozzles and seals and replaced the vacuum pump out of precaution.....but it never had any issues....started every time, even unplugged at -10F. 28-32mpg all day long with a 4 speed auto

Per carfax had 706k in 98. Had 806k showing 8/2/00 then 12/21/00 125k, maybe a typo. Next mileage entry 11/26/01 was 803k then went up from there. Last mileage entry was from 2/05 at 829k
