I dodged a bullet today! Plus where can I get rubber fuel line?
Whewwwie!
I was driving this morning, when I saw steam coming from under the hood. Turns out the rubber fuel hose that attaches to the metal fuel line line to deliver fuel to the big fuel filter was actually OFF the metal fuel line!!! The metal line and rubber hose MET (they were kissing each other), but the rubber hose was no longer over the metal line and clamped on like it was supposed to be. Fuel was shooting out all over the place but amazingly enough, the car was still running since the hose was in the right place out of habit to receive the fuel. I changed that hose years ago and apparently didn't have the clamp down far enough towards the end of the hose or tight enough. Over the years of vibration, the clamp went up and off the metal fuel line and this happened. I'm assuming the bubble out part on the metal fuel line is there as an indicator to let you know how far down the rubber hose is supposed to go to, is that right? That all said, what type of rubber fuel line does this use? When I do a search about all that comes up is the small braided line and that's not what I need. Thanks, jeff 1991 300d, 219k |

I'd do a once over of all of your rubbers for any holes.
Both in your car and the ones in the nightstand. Don't want any accidents. ![]()

Pelican parts sells what you want. Call them and talk to them. Their number is at the top of the first page.
