OM648 High Pressure Pump Leaking

Looks like the high pressure pump on one of the CDIs is leaking. Ugh... Anyone have experience with this? I wonder if my indie can reseal or if I'm going to have to replace the pump.

shertex that pump looks like something you would see on a hydraulic power unit in a paper mill. I'd suspect they are rebuild able. Look around for hydraulic repair type shop that you can get it to.

If it has Bosch on it a Fuel Injection shop could deal with it.

Is there any sort of number plate on it?

Note a hydraulic shop and a fuel injection shop are likely to have facilities to keep everything clean. I think few independent mechanics are up to that.

Easily rebuildable with the correct seal kit , if you can do most car diy then this is just another job.
Plenty of seal kits on Ebay.

Mark position of pump before removing

There is a part number plate but it's too small for me to read. I'm assuming it's Bosch part 0986437364.

I'm assuming my worst-case scenario is for my mechanic to send the pump to the local Bosch shop for a rebuild.
