W123 Dash light LED's
Hi guys. I just got some LED's for my dash and the wires go over the top of the wedge and onto the other side. From my research, I assume that this will cause a short. I have researched the modification and am still unsure. Can I just clip the tag end of each wire that goes over the top of the wedge on each wire so that there is only one wire per side? Thanks

Also test to make sure the LED is installed the right way. Many have a polarity and will only work if installed in the correct orientation.

I'd like to see what you've done here, I tried putting dimmable LED bulbs in place of the incandescent ones, and it would fry the traces on the board every time. After repairing the traces twice I gave up. I was trying to keep the function of the rheostat, but didn't find a solution, thinking that while the wattage is lower on the LED it wouldn't be an issue, but apparently the resistance is far different. Caveat electrical is not my forte.
