Should I be concerned? Disconnected OM602 sensor

To be honest, I don't know what this is for on my 1991 300D. It was disconnected for I don’t know how long.

Could have been since august and a few thousand miles.

Now the reason why I ask “should I be concerned” is because the car runs and drives beautifully more or less all the time. It idles at the right speed, starts well, has boost (I believe), etc.

What is that connection for? Should some operation be affected?

Car runs so nicely.

Is your cruise control working?

Been awhile since I have had a 602, but I think that could be the connecting rod to the cruise control actuator.

Sure others will chime in.

Ok, is it a “throttle position sensor” that feeds cruise and Klima then?

Why can’t I seem to find anything on this item by searching??!?

Apparently one of the sensors is also for the EGR. I haven’t gone
To a pressure actuated wastegate yet.

Would no signal from this to the EGR affect the wastegate? I think I get boost. Or the car without is sufficiently peppy…
