replace high pressure AC hose - W116 79 300SD

Looking for some tips and tricks on replacing high pressure AC hose. 1979 300SD - replaced leaking condensor, and on recharging found leak in hi press hose. This is the 12mm blue one that disappears into the firewall next to the brake booster. I believe it goes to the evaporator. How do you get to the evaporator, and what is required to remove hose.

Too hot in Kansas! Yesterday 105F with 113 heat index. Any help appreciated!
