As I recall from the AEM settlement documentation there are financial incentives for Mercedes to complete as many cars as possible. I think there were penalties if they didn't get to 85% of the effected cars being modified?
I'd guess that Mercedes would be willing to overlook/repair some broken components to get a car through the program. I know of one other Bluetec owner that brought a car in with a CE light on for a fault related to the Adblue system and Mercedes completed the modifications no questions asked. I suspect they'll repair/replace whatever is needed. Who is doing your tuning that deletes the Adblue system and disables the auto start/stop 'feature'?
